Hi! I have been so busy with work I have not been able to write. But I had a new experience yesterday and I wanted to share.
The holiday season brings out the good (and the scrooge).
Last night, with the help of my daughter and a few others, I cooked dinner for 200 homeless folks. The food had to be prepared at my home then transported to the emergency cold weather shelter I cooked for. I have never done this before. It was a challenging and messy task and took 2 hours to cook, 30 minutes to transport and then, of course, serving. I am blessed. I have work, a home, and my husband makes a good living. It was so small…but so big. They people were so happy just to have a good meal.
For the cost of a fee dinners out, we fed many. I am grateful I could do it! I have the time, capability and health. So many don’t.
Its grounding to help others. Whatever way calls to you, its worth the time.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanuka and happy Holidays!
However you celebrate, please consider sharing.
